I have decided that when it rains it pours... both freezing rain and
trials...
I love teaching people-- it is the BEST!!! Ca***in is progressing!!!!!!!!!!! She is starting to call herself a Mormon!!! She called her family and told them
that she is going to convert and her mom got all churchy on her but she stood up
for what she is learning and her mom said that she will respect her
choices.
D***ie is also still reading the Book of Mormon she has told us that she
wants to read it before she goes any further with the Church which is great by
our standards!! She just hit 2 Nephi 7.
We are handing over Am*l to some Hermanas over in Cedar falls and hopefully
he will progress with them. Cross your fingers!!
So now for the explanation of when it rains it pours. Well I guess that I
will just tell this as a story.
First things first. I love being in a branch with two sets of missionaries. It
is wonderful and a huge blessing more often than not.
Well last Saturday we decided to have Elder Allred, (yes he is somehow
related to you Kevin and Denise), make his special cheese burgers: hamburger
tomatoes peppers cheese and some spices: and he decided to pull a prank on the
other elders who were coming later than our usual 8 o'clock dinner time, because
of an appointment. He locked the front door. So it can still be opened from the inside
when it is locked, but not the outside. (you can already see where this is
going)
They arrived at like 8:20 and they had to knock to get in, so we let them in and we all laughed
and ate our food. It tasted wonderful.
Then we sat and talked for a while after we ate and we all just had a good
laugh and all that other stuff that comes with being with 4 tough
guys.
At nine we decided to drive the other Elders home, they both don't have
driving privileges right now, and we went down to the car and we went out the
door that we always go through and it was fine. We got down to the car and Elder
Musick realized he had forgotten his gloves in the apartment. He went up and
then came down a few seconds later and said "I hope you have your keys-- its
locked". Elder Allred did not have his keys, so we tried a few things like carding the
door that wasn't dead bolted, We have two doors. We tried going up into the attic and
walking around up there trying to see if we could come down through the two
ceilings (one is a lowered ceiling like they have in schools) and also a few
windows. All failed. So we called our landlord.... he is in Florida for the
next week and couldn't get us in and his son who is here couldn't find the spare
key. It was important for us to get in there because NEWS Flash I am taking some
important meds, ask mom about them.
Well we made a few more calls and the soonest that a locksmith could get
here was this morning at 9:00. So for Saturday night and Sunday
night we had to sleep at the other Elders' pad and it was a BLAST we had so much
fun just talking wrestling and playing B-ball on their little mini hoop that
they have. It was a PARTY!!!
And finally today we got into the apartment. The locksmith was a sweet dude
in the end. Because the lock was so old though, he just had to drill through the
dead bolt and then used a screw driver to let us in. It was so cool to
watch!
And now the story has a happy ending--I have my meds and we are back in our
own beds tonight, and not a couch and a mattress some members let us borrow!
HOORAY!!!
Well, l hope you all have a great week,
Elder Keeley
