#ammonforthewin

Mom note:  today is October 5 when I posting this letter from Dan, but it is indeed a letter he wrote on Aug 18 .  life happens!!

Well it was one of those weeks that we RAN AND RAN AND RAN! and then we looked back on the week last night and we realized that we had only taught 15 Lessons... it is amazing that you can do SOOO much and yet have done SOOO little in the missions terms. Oh well!
Well I will include some pictures of a stump that we removed from a members yard! That was REALLY fun to that for a couple hours (it took longer than we thought and that was the story of all of our service projects that we undertake). The reason that this stump took so long was because the last and biggest root went straight down from the center of the stump. We used a pocket knife saw in the end to saw it off most of the way... :)
Then, A***a came to church on Sunday! And she brought her  husband and her two kids, both are not members but both love church when they come!
D**a is getting BAPTIZED!!!! everything is lined up and ready to go she had her interview yesterday after church and is super excited for Saturday at 11:30! As are we! She stopped smoking JUST in TIME and is now smoke free and loving life minus a few migraines and stuff like that... She went to Nauvoo with her friend that was Baptized in the First ward a month ago and is now ready and set to go for her own experience inside! In fact she convinced her husband,  that they should spend a little vacation over there on a Friday Saturday in a hotel! she is staying around for a while in the church!
J** is about to get kicked out of his house... again... we really don't know what to do with this guy he is SUPER COOL he just left his last job because of a "hostile work environment" and didn't have something else lined up yet, and now is paying for it. He is coming to church and LOVING that but still not reading or praying. He is a living testimony to me that those things are important!
B** is D**a's Niece who has been living at D**a's house and sitting in with the rest of the "crew" and we centered on her this week. She is now investigating! But... there is always a but. She has to go back to her home and live with her other Aunt who lives in Kewanne Illinois, which is now out of our mission. Plus her other Aunt won't let other people come into her house. :( on a happy note she wants to move in with D**a so she can "Do the LDS thing with her!" We still have a TON of hope for her!
The World keeps turning round and round and I have passed another month mark :( I have now been out here for 19 months and can count how many months I have left with an increase of the spirit on one hand. That does make me kinda sad. yeah i know that I can still have it after but it just wont be the same.
On the plus side again I am still learning and GROWING! I am still GREEN!
A Little thought from my studies, King Lamoni in Alma 18:5 thought that what he was doing was right in the eyes of "the Great Spirit". The people that we teach and even some times us, think that "God understands my circumstance and he will justify a little there and a little here" but after King Lamoni came to a knowledge of his sins, he "had no more desire to do evil". We NEED to do the SAME and bury our weapons of war! even our little daggers.
Have a Good one,
Elder Daniel Keeley
