Well yesterday was a bad day... it was a blizzard for most of the
morning which took up most of our p-day. We were productive with our time though
and played Risk ;) (Love you too, Lane).
At about 1:00-ish the storm stopped and we
were freed from our apartment. We quickly dashed to Cedar Falls to play sports
with the missionaries there!!! It was a great release of pent up
energy.
Well this last week has been very eventful!!!! Transfers were
on Thursday and Elder Allred and I got up at 5:00 to get ready for the meeting
and I went into the bathroom to take a shower and turned on the water in the tub
and nothing came out.... the main line into our apartment complex, the one
coming from the water main, is frozen.
The frost line has descended below 4
feet out here and a lot of water mains and shoot offs, like ours, are freezing
or breaking. a few schools have been shut down because of it and it is becoming
a real problem. There were already 27 other cases of this same thing
happening all over Waverly, of people who had called into the repair company when we called on Thursday. They are so backed up that they still haven't
gotten to our place yet. We have been living with the other elders. This was the
situation that my new companion came into in Waverly. He has yet to sleep in his
bed. So far he has crashed on a couch and I have slept on a mattress on the
floor.
Oh my new Companion is Elder Phelps from Stockton, California
and he is a great guy and a wonderful missionary! We feel like we have been
together forever because of all that we have already gone through.
Other
things we have done together, run three miles because of a miscommunication,
played Risk 4 times at the other elders' place, invented a new Get to Know You
District meeting game and then practiced it many times (if your curious it
consists of ping pong balls and a lot of laughter) and set up a bash with a
Lutheran pastor.Yeah we are rocking Waverly right now!!
B**d and Ca***in are doing GREAT!! We had to move back Ca***in's date to
the 16th because of her mom's Birthday and winter break from her college. Pray for
them!!
love
Elder Keeley
