This week
has been wonderful and great! I have learned so much about myself and about
others it is insane that Elder Phelps and I have been together for A FULL
TRANSFER!! It sure has been a wild ride with lots and lots of good things
happenin! That is for sure!
This week has been a roller coaster for us
and the people that we teach, but the Lord knows we are trying and he will bless
us for that!
A little miracle to start off the week and a tender mercy
mercy from the Lord! On monday we didn't have P-day-- it was Transfer week and we
have P-day on Wednesdays on transfer week. We had a solid day lined up with us
teaching K***rine and K*ri both that day. We were SUPER excited for it. Right
after studies ended, we got a call from the member that was going with us to see
K*ri and he couldn't go any more. He was our last chance so we had to cancel
with her and that was really sad :(
Then not ten minutes later, after we get
off the phone with K*ri, K***rine called us, and she had contracted an infection in
her leg where she had had surgery last week. She wasn't supposed to have
visitors for a few days... it was kind of a crappy 20 minutes. I almost cried.
but by the end of the day we had gotten into a less-active family's home that we
had been trying to see for a few weeks. We had a great discussion with them and
it was really really a huge blessing for us!
We saw K***rine on Friday
and that was a super great lesson. She is into Alma now in the Book of Mormon and
had a few questions that we answered and that was fun. The classic "so if
alcohol is bad why did Christ drink wine?" and a few other questions from our
lesson before she got sick again. Oh and on Thursday she was being super
stubborn and wanted to do some cleaning. She did good until she had to put away a
clean towel on a high shelf. She fell down on her knee that was replaced a
couple months ago, her foot that just had surgery, and her hip that is in need
of surgery work. She is really messed up now and feels that it happened to help
humble her and help her to learn to rely on the Lord and on others for help. We
agree.
Elder Gray has left the group and has been replaced by one of my
oldest friends that I have in this mission (my other old mission friends are in
the Chicago West mission now) He is Elder Brewer from Arizona he was in Chariton while
I was in Centerville. And that really helped us to have a place just to pick up
the friendship and go. It has been super fun!! And we work great together already
we know each others teaching style and that is always a bonus!
