Well start with the miracles, Thursday was the day filled to the
brim with them. We started off the day by the regular morning schedule and then
going to District Meeting. Had a great training about exact obedience and the
joy of missionary work. It was a wonderful time and very fulfilling.
It
all started soon after we returned. We went down to see (miracle #1) K*ri, about
a 10 minute walk, and as we walked up we noticed that her car wasn't there so we
started to discuss backup plans-- when she pulled up. She was just getting home
from grocery shopping and we were able to help her carry them in, when inside we
meet her son who was home sick from school and that was really good and a
miracle to meet him finally.
So we confirmed our next appointment for today and then
went on our way. Stopped by a few potentials in her area and then went on with
our plans. We walked and talked to people out enjoying the non freezing
temperature and then had a wonderful meal at the Love family's home and gave
them a great message about developing family mission plans.
Then we were
walking around in an area that we are never in (just too far away). We were kind of biding
our time until a potential got home
(miracle #2). A member that we needed to talk to,
called us and said that he had seen us walking and felt that he needed to give
us a ride. We accepted and talked to him about the lesson with Ca**lin that we
wanted to have at his family's home the next day. We hadn't been able to get in
contact with him until this miracle. We set up the appointment and then he dropped us off at the
potentials house.
(miracle #3) We noticed the lights were on now so we went ahead and
knocked on their door. On an off note: this potentials name is H**ley and Cal*b.
we had only meet H**ley and so we were excited to meet C**leb when he came to the
door.(She wasn't home). He kept bringing up how he was comfortable where he was at and trying to
drop us. I wouldn't let him --I just kept interrupting him and asking more
questions until he opened up to us. By the end of the conversation Ha**ey had
come home and we were talking to both of them and we gave him a Gospel of Jesus
Christ pamphlet and invited them to read it together and pray about it!!! We are
going back today or tomorrow to follow up with them.
We also meet with
K*ri today at one and K***rine today at 3. Kathrine's surgery went well but she
is on a bed rest order and so she couldn't come to church yesterday.
The weather has been nice so we have been biking and seeing a lot of
people that we usually don't get to see too often.
Oh
another miracle. Get this: we met an Amish dude on rumspringa (kind of a leave of
absence that for him) He has decided to never go back too. We were biking past him
and we stopped and asked if he wanted any help raking up his yard. He said
yes... no one ever says yes-- it was weird. We got talking and he kept dropping
hints unintentionally that he was Amish. Stuff like: he had 12 siblings and that
his dad owns a construction company. Or that he loves horses and that he had
some back home. Just little things but I wasn't fast enough to catch onto them. It wasn't until we asked about religion that he told us. I kind of got really
excited. I have always wanted to teach an Amish we are going to be dropping by on
Sundays to see if he is home or not.
Well have a grand day to you
all,
Elder Keeley
