Burning bush... :)

June 10, 2014
Soo i have a thousand excuses for why this is late... but i will just say that yesterday started off great but ended in chaos... more on that later.
So last week was VERY FUN! So last week i mentioned that The Mcallister's were trying to line up schedules with An*ie and B*d well it happened!!! We were able to meet with them at the Mcallister's home on Friday for dinner and to talk!!! We really didn't teach a "lesson" per say but we did have the opportunity Testify and answer her questions!!! And at the end of it all Elder Phelps and I took over (we let the Mcallister's answer most of the questions) and invited them to baptism!! And they ACCEPTED!!! She actually brought up the question that if we found out if the LDS Church wasn't the right thing if we would up and leave it... Brother Mcallister answered it PERFECTLY he simply said "We have ALREADY put it all on the line and asked GOD and he answered us." It kinda blew us all away! He is an amazing person!!!
Unfortunately they are headed out of town for a wedding this week and so we won't be able to meet with them this week. Oh FYI their last name is H******nd (the H is silent). and we will meet with them on next Friday unfortunately i might not be here transfers are on Thursday :( oh well if I am supposed to leave I will.)
Ke** is doing GREAT she read a chapter from the BOM!!! she has tried many times and was finally able to sit down and do it!!! We helped her find where she can listen to it online and she thinks that will be much easier for her, we agree. Now we need to get her to church!
Par**, B**ea and Je***e are doing well they are all living life and trying to juggle a thousand things at once. It is very difficult to get in with them now that summer has started in full force.
S**tt is living life at the pace that he can while working a night shift job and all of that. :) He has been having some drama in his life but it seems that things have calmed down a bit for him!
Oh PS the Miracles for the week are hidden in the info about the investigators you gotta look for um today!
Now for the summary of yesterday....
It started very nicely we went golfing with a member who's family has left for Utah and he has to stay here for work for a couple of weeks and then he will fly out and join them that drove earlier. It was really fun and relaxing for me! We all enjoyed ourselves even Elder Brewer who it was his first time Golfing.
We then ran to Waterloo for a BBQ and sports fun with some other missionaries in our Zone. As usual we were the first people to get there so we broke out the B-balls and tried to play some half court stuff, there was a school at the park for their last day of school party. after a few minutes we realized that they were not playing half court one team was just dominating the ball. so we moved out of the way and waited patiently. This payed off in the long run we got a Referral for the Marshaleese  missionaries that are in Waterloo (it is a language from the Marshal Islands in the South Pacific, there are a few pockets of them in Iowa) and we were also given all of the leftover sack lunches and chips that the school had.  They just gave them to us so they wouldn't just get thrown away.
Finally after an hour of so of there just being four of us the other elders started showing up, we had fun and grilled some burgers and hotdogs and played some games of catch and really just talked a lot to each other. After we were done eating we played some Capture the Flag which was fun and great. After we played that a family came up and talked to us.  They were hungry and we gave them the rest of the chips we had been given by the school, they were very happy and stuffed their faces (Waterloo is very bad for poverty and the super nice park we were at was right next to the worst section of town so that was probable the best these kids had eaten since school got out for them). after they finished the Chips we decided to try and restart the grill and throw a couple of hotdogs on it. So Elder Brewer and I jumped to action.  Everyone else was off playing volleyball, his knees were hurting, and I was kinda guarding all of our stuff, so we were talking to this family. he lifted the grate on the little permanent grill the park had with a stick and shot in some lighter fluid thinking we needed to restart the grill he started on the right of the grill and sprayed over to the left side when he got to the left side he hit a hot coal and the entire thing went into a fire ball.
He got second degree burns on his left hand but he will be great! No permanent damage so he was really blessed there! Quote from him "The priesthood is real!". Needless to say before and after we established that he would be ok, there were many many Moses and burning bush jokes and fiery furnace of affliction jokes thrown around in the hospital... yeah we are missionaries we know...
Well he will be Great he just needs to stay in for a couple of days and not shake hands with anyone.
Well that has been the last week!
