Well, what do you do in the wintertime, when all the world is cold?

November  17,  2014

Well does any one have an answer??? Hmm Hmmm Hmmm? Nope. well  I will tell you. You sit inside and curl up on the couch with a nice cup of hot... something/watch children, and then you sip on it for a few hours and enjoy the new Captain America, How to train your dragon, X-men, or the latest episode of agents of Shield. Then maybe throw on some really nice warm clothes and go outside to your car that may have a remote start and have been warming up for the last 5 minutes and rush from your house to the warmth that awaits. You go to the store and return to your couch/watching children.
Oh wait, there is someone at your door.  Rub frost spot off of window.  See it is the Mormons, mouth that it is too cold outside to talk and turn back to the TV.
Our day: wake up at 6:30 do normal morning routine. 10 o'clock comes around you drag your feet while you put on your 3 layers of winter clothing (thermal long johns, winter socks then normal socks, thermal top, slacks, white shirt, tie, sweater, scarf, jacket think about maybe wearing a second jacket decide you would look weird, ear muffs, hat, then gloves) go outside decide the second jacket may have been a good idea go back and put it on. Call the local weather service and find out that with humidity and wind chill it feels like -20 outside and you are advised to remain indoors. Go anyways. Walk to a less active that lives near your apartment. they aren't home so you cannot warm up there. go to a back up.  they aren't home. try second backup they are just leaving and do not want to talk outside so set up apt for the next week! (first highlight of the day!) look at your watch realize you walked faster than you meant to, so you could stay warm. Have 30 minutes before lunch time and have to knock doors in the area find a house and windows are frosted.   Knock.   guy rubs frost spot off and tells you to move on. repeat for 30 minutes until you can go home strip off the 2 jackets and make some hot cocoa. make lunch think about taking a nap and decided to just sit on the couch and read instead. Look at watch.  40 minutes have passed of lunch so start putting on winter gear again. Repeat with the less active members and potentials until dinner with a member at 6 then go out while sun is down and repeat the knocking process while going in between planned stop by's of potential investigators and less active members.  finally say never mind and go see D***** for the third day in a row and drink hot chocolate with her and warm up before her husband gives us a ride home at 9. repeat the next day.
That has been my week. :)
I love the cold!! it is sooo wonderful it just bites here and it is horrible. the humidity off the Mississippi really makes it a different ball game than back home. It just is colder feeling :)
Well yeah thanks for that little bit of venting it felt good.
We have had a REALLY good week this past week though we are now officially teaching the S****** kids!! R**** and P****** are their names and they are the kids of a returning less active member and it is SOO much fun. The only real hurdle may be their dad and if he will allow it to happen but on the plus side we are also kinda teaching him! We would have taught them earlier but there was some mix up in communication and and and and and and.... you get the picture!
D***** is doing good she gets a tooth pulled today and we are stopping by afterward to see her all puffed up from the surgery of removing the root that was impeding her sinuses ;) excited for that one!
The world keeps bringing up that i am going home soon... (just a hint missionaries hate it when you do that) and it is kinda getting annoying "oh do you have plans?" "is there a girl back home?" "college?" Work?" the list of questions is always the same it is kinda lame be creative people!
Well A* also had a surgery last week so we are now waiting for him to start to heal so we can teach him again! he is hurting from it all it was a very "in depth" surgery...
Well thanks for all the support and prayers. they are felt on this side,
Elder Daniel Keeley
PS if anyone want to make my day collaborate with Mike Nielson (Laura's Mike) and get me a really really good coat for a  pre-Christmas present. that would be very muchly appreciated!
Love you all!
