Welcome, Welcome, fall Mornings...( sung to the tune of Welcome, Welcome Sabbath Morning)

October 20, 2014

Well fall is in full swing here in Iowa and there is nothing we can do about it!!!! The Trees are red and yellow the corn is brown and the beans are being harvested every which way we look. In short winter is around the corner and it is going to be a BAD one the summer was SOOO mild that the ground never really warmed up and the snow will pile deep and the wind will BLOW and BLOW and BLOW with nothing here to stop it. This winter is going to be comparable to last if not worse is what everyone is saying. I am not looking forward to January to say the least! :)
On the plus side I stayed in DAVENPORT!!! and so did Elder Bennion!!!! the Cowboys be kicken' it for another 7 weeks and probably 3 months!...!!! The Sister's in our ward got pulled though and that is a VERY SAD thing :( They were very much loved and appreciated in the Ward and in the District and in the Zone they were super funny and always had a smile even if the work was horrible for them and all of that stuff they always helped us "lousy Elders" put on a smile! We really will miss them with the work here they were teaching between 30 and 40 lessons a week to people so it will be hard for the other elders in the ward to take over their shoes, they are taking over the sisters area and we are taking over their area slowly! in short we now have ALL of the ghetto in our ward..!! Hooray for areas that have shooting pretty much every week! Yeah... we love it south of Locust Street! (don't worry mom we are always safe and protected)
J**** and K**** were handed off to the other elders this week and they are still going to be teaching them even though it is "our area now" it is good for them this way anyway. we will just start teaching less actives in their area and the members and slowly start finding people over there!
A* Is doing alright there have been some recent advancements in our knowledge of him that are going to make it much harder for us to baptize him but on the plus side The ATONEMENT is REAL and nothing can not be overcome by it no matter how serious the addiction or the surgery, PS he goes in for pre-op tomorrow so prayers for him between now and the 10th would be greatly appreciated and for us to know how to help him get over this "minor" hiccup that we have encountered with him. This is a new one for me and Elder Bennion so pray for us!
We acquired a couple of investigators from the Sisters that we gave them in our area, She is a single mom so we were trying to make it easy for them to teach them. Her name is L****, and she has a Daughter that is almost 8 and so we have a date set with them for the 24th of January so they can be baptized together and they are set on that idea! The daughters name is A******* and she has a son who is 3 (looks like he is 6, he is like 80 or 90 pounds) his name is J******* yes there are three m's in it, it is SUPER COOL!
D***** is doing alright her hernia is so unpredictable we have to find out Sunday morning if she feels good enough to come to church or not. It really does stink and that is the end of it.
We have had 5 babies born in the ward in the past 4 weeks and 3 of them got blessed last Sunday and we felt the influx of people and then we felt the absence of those people this week. it was kinda empty and the congregation was REALLY a lot smaller.
This transfer is gonna be crazy we have interviews with president and a mission tour by a seventy it is gonna be super fun and REALLY intense that is FOR SURE! By the way it is Elder Carlos A. Godoy that is coming he spoke at conference in Portuguese!
Well all is well on this front of the battle field. hope all is well over there,
Elder Daniel Keeley
