Well, another week

October 13, 2014

First off if you haven't seen Meet The Mormons... shame on you :( most of you still have a few days to go and see it though! Devote some time and just do it!!!! It is an AMAZING production and is uplifting! Unlike so much of the media today that the only point is to degrade and damage the human world this one is centered on growing and progressing! Plus it is really really funny!
The life of this "old" missionary goes on and on and on and on...... The world of a missionary is a life of joy and sadness and this week has had a few roller coasters. Well lets start it on a coin with two sides. J**** and K**** finally got an apartment away from his mom's house he has a nice place in Down Town Davenport in a really clean and new complex, the other side of the coin is that is isn't in our area. :( he is still in the ward but not in our area, so at least we can see him on Sundays and other big occasions like the ward trunk or treat! And if i leave this Thursday then i won't care about boundaries and i will go and see him one more time before i get shipped off to my new place
Oh by the way they shortened this transfer for some reason and lengthened the next one so this one is only 5 weeks and the next one is 7 weeks, usually they are 6 weeks so this one has flown by and the next will probably crawl by on us. No news on if i am leaving or staying we haven't received our transfer doctrine yet. It will surprise us all if i am in davenport or not next Monday.
A* came to church again and we had a really good discussion about service and missionary work in gospel principles that had everyone talking and participating it was a really good time! He is going to feed us lunch on Wednesday and we are super excited to help him in any way we can! He is kinda hitting a road bump this week. There is a daycare across the alley in his back yard, his backyard neighbor and the owner got in a little argument and it ended in the neighbor spitting on the owner and now the whole neighborhood is aflame and taking sides. A* is on the Daycare side and is kinda mad at P***, that's the guys name, they have been at it for years about some stuff that happened with P***'s grand kids, he says A* sold them drugs, and A* denies naturally and then points out the "illegal used car dealership" that P*** is running. He buys not working used cars and fixes them and then sells them for profit the real problem is that he would park them on the street and block all the parking for the daycare... yeah we have heard both sides P*** is a former investigator. Welcome to the drama of the legendary Onieda Avenue of Davenport Iowa if you look it up on the web there should be a shooting or two that shows up and countless drug busts! We love that street we can always find someone to teach on it no matter how many times you have talked to "everyone that lives on it" believe me i know.
M****** is sitting like a fish out of water and doing nothing spiritually and we are struggling to find what the dam is so that we can remove it and he can progress again! Other than that he is doing good and we still haven't met his girlfriend and are starting to really doubt if she even exists at all we want to trust him but it is becoming really really hard to.
D***** has some good/bad news her hernia doesn't need surgery!!!! Because they cannot do anything to fix it, they could only make it worse :(  So she gets to live life to the best she can and not lift anything to heavy or risk making it worse anyways.
Other that those things the week has been uneventful and we are all living to the fullest, oh wait one more thing apparently 7:30 is late in Iowa and people don't like you knocking that late.... i will let you all make up stories for that one ;)
Have a good one,
Elder Daniel Keeley
