This week has been FILLED with miracles and blessings from on high, and the
best part is that we are recognizing them and are being thankful for them. We
are trying our best to thank God when we recognize these things happening even
with a silent prayer and he is blessing us all the more for it.
God
prepared someone for us to teach and help both physically and spiritually.
Her
name is Ka****ne and she is WONDERFUL. She has had a hard life but she has
let it prepare and mold her and not make her bitter and sad. She has MS
(multiple sclerosis), and a rare incurable neurological disorder, and has had
multiple surgeries in the past few years, and bone spurs on her feet. She is a
medical mess but still loves life and all the little blessings that she sees
each day. She investigated the church about 8 years ago in California and was
almost baptized, when she was diagnosed with MS and had to move closer to family
back here in Iowa where she dropped off the map... Until Elder Allred and I meet
her in the library one day and gave her our card and got her info.
She called a
couple of weeks ago and said that her power was turned off and that she was
living at her mom's house in Cedar Rapids. So we waited and she finally got it
back on and is now living in her house again. Elder Phelps and I went out on
Tuesday and talked to her, and during that meeting we invited her to baptism and set a date to be
baptized on May 3rd. The date is so far away because she is having the Bone
Spurs removed via surgery tomorrow.
Ca***in has gone home for spring
break this week . Her family is kind
of against her joining the church and when
we text-ed her on Sunday and said that she had kind of wished that she had never
gone home at all. But she said that the rest she could talk about face to face with us,
and that we should meet soon. Please pray for her and maybe put her name on the temple
prayer rolls.
Br*d has a job and is kind of busy right now so we
haven't been able to meet. :(
Pa*is is doing well and all his work has
him on a crazy schedule and he has a ton of deadlines to meet so it has been
hard to get in with them for sure.
